Let’s Break the Cycle.

Rewrite Her Story

Around the world, students are missing school and young people are suffering in silence, all because they can’t afford basic menstrual care. We’re turning that silence into action with education, advocacy, and free product distribution where it’s needed most.

Promote & Empower

Young Women

No one should have to choose between a pad and their potential. Period poverty is real. So is our fight to end it. Across the country and around the world, students are missing school, workers are missing shifts, and young people are suffering in silence—all because they can’t afford basic menstrual care. At Promote Her, Period, we’re turning that silence into action with education, advocacy, and free product distribution where it’s needed most.

Our 3 Core Pillars

Destigmatization

We’re rewriting the story around periods by replacing silence and shame with strength and visibility.

By fostering open dialogue and creating safe, affirming spaces, we empower young people to speak confidently about their menstrual health. Our mission is to break cycles of misinformation and stigma, one conversation at a time.

Product Access

Menstrual products are a necessity, not a privilege. We distribute free products to students and underserved communities so no one has to choose between their education and their period.

We’re committed to making period products accessible to young girls because every student deserves to show up fully—without barriers, shame, or fear.

Education

We believe every girl deserves to understand her body. Through interactive workshops, peer-led discussions, and mentored seminars, we deliver the menstrual health education that traditional systems often overlook.

Our programs are designed to equip girls with knowledge that empowers them to advocate for themselves and others.

Meet Anaya, Our Founder

Anaya Andre founded Promote Her, Period. in 2022 as a grassroots effort to fight period poverty, normalize the conversation around menstruation, and make education and access non-negotiable. What began as conversations among friends has grown into a national effort to end period poverty and empower girls to embrace their cycles without shame.

As a purpose-driven leader, Anaya has led donation drives, built meaningful partnerships, and launched creative campaigns that center the voices and experiences of young women. Under her leadership, PHP has developed tools like the “Educate Her” initiative and delivered menstrual products to schools, shelters, and underserved communities.

Anaya’s work is grounded in the belief that when we give girls knowledge, confidence, and dignity, we change the story—not just for today, but for generations to come. PHP exists to promote her period, promote her voice, and promote her, always.

The Reality of Period Poverty:

What the Numbers Reveal

Period poverty isn’t rare—it’s everywhere. It impacts students, working families, and entire communities, yet it remains one of the most under-discussed public health and equity issues of our time. The data is clear: lack of access to menstrual products is holding people back in school, at work, and in life.

500 Million+

People worldwide live without adequate access to period products. That’s more than the entire population of North America—left to manage their periods with rags, newspapers, or nothing at all.

1 in 5

Teens in the U.S. have struggled to afford period products And 84% say they’ve missed school or know someone who has because they lacked access to supplies.

60%

Of people who menstruate have worn a pad or tampon longer than recommended because they couldn’t afford more. This increases the risk of infections like UTIs and toxic shock syndrome.
